I wouldn’t blame you for thinking that Twitter doesn’t look like a model application for teaching creative writing to primary school students. Up until very recently I would’ve have cocked my head to one side and said the very same too. But Twitter and its 140 character limit would prove you otherwise.

Twitter, for those of you who may not know, is an online social networking and microblogging service. Its primary function is to enable users to send and read “tweets”, which are text messages limited to 140 characters. Registered users can read and post tweets but unregistered users can only read them. At the time of writing, there are three different methods users can access twitter, these include through websites, SMS or the app for smartphones.
